Last night, my hubby and I went to the Harry Potter finale double feature. HP part 2 was awesome! I loved it! This morning, when I got up to write for Ali's flash fiction blogfest, Harry Potter was totally on the brain. And I started to imagine what the celebration banquet might have been like. What might have happened? Who would attend? I didn't want to write a typical Harry scene, so decided to go with one of my favorite characters - Luna Lovegood. So here - in 250 words - is just a small sample of what I would imagine just might happen.

Ah - so sad that Harry Potter is done. I haven't seen the last movie yet - so excited to see it. Love your tribute to independence and Harry Potter.

That was great! I can just imagine the celebrations!
Funny thing. I was reading this and the TV is going on in the background. Just as I was finishing your story, the newscaster switched from politics to playing a scene from Harry Potter. What timing! - Jul 15, 2011, 10:55:00 AM

Very fun and timely! :) I've never read a Harry Potter book either and I stopped watching the movies at like number 3. Maybe when my kids are a little older we'll delve in.

I'm waiting to see the last movie. You are like me. I'm always asking "What happens next?" and filling it in for myself.

What a lovely independence day celebration. Nice job.
But you really should read the books. Only people who are afraid to move on stay behind as ghosts.
***movie spoiler alert***
In the final battle in the DH2 is where I was disappointed in the film. All those times Harry faced Voldie with only Voldie's supporters as witnesses. Finally in the finally confrontation with him, all those people were watching (in the book). The way the film showed Voldie's body flaking away, how can Harry prove he's really dead? - Jul 15, 2011, 9:33:00 PM

That was wonderful!
I thought the last movie was fantastic. I had finished the book so long ago, that I didn't even remember how it ended! (I remembered the climax, but not the actual ending.)
I read the first book when I was nine. Now I feel like my childhood ended. haha
